Your Destiny Looms

The first wave of official Destiny information has been unleashed. Now there's a flood of points and impressions. There's even a Pre-Order button on the site… which seems pretty aggressive for a game that isn't due to release for more than a year.

What I found most amusing was their attempt to distance themselves from being an MMO:
"These are living, open worlds with evolving stories, changing time of day…and every one is full of players," says engineering lead Chris Butcher. "Destiny is an always online experience, but it's not an MMO."
It's certainly been a fun fifteen plus years since Ultima Online started going so it is time to make MMO a dirty word. But ... it's an MMO. *lol*

I've been largely impressed with everything brought to life in the Halo universe. From what's out there now this will addition will not disappoint.

Gamers Are Bigoted, Petulant Children

Getting through some of the content that I've been missing. The Feedbackula - Sexism special was pretty exceptional. Some of the comments were incredibly backward but, ultimately, not too surprising. You'd think the Information Age would stem some of the stupidity tide.

Purchasing Dawnguard and Hearthfire for half-price during the Black Friday Steam sale has turned out to be the bad idea I knew it was. These foul creations are largely at fault for my lack of posting lately since my free time has been spent either in Azeroth or Skyrim. And now I've even got the Creation Kit opened again with plans to finally get a voiced follower written. *sigh*

Oh and hey! How come I didn't know about the F2P Marvel universe MMO possibly being released?

And what?! THQ just filed for bankruptcy!?! *head explodes*

BioWare Swings the Axe at Employees

There is a forum announcement about some "restructuring on the SWTOR team." Always difficult to see but not surprising. As much as I enjoyed the game I haven't been able to get back into it. The few times I've logged in the last three weeks it's been pretty sparse. If I can't get interested I'll be cancelling my account at the end of the month. My guess is that I'm not the only one feeling like this.

FRAPS Me Big Long Time

FRAPS 3.5 is out. Finally able to capture to more than 4gb per file! Really got tired of stitching files together.

2600 Then an 800XL, Never a C64, Never an ST

Caught an article on MSNBC about Jack Tramiel's death on Sunday. Wow, total blast from the past. I remember that name from my Commodore and Atari upbringing. How his son Sam also got more involved after Jack had moved to Atari then became CEO when Jack left. Seeing all the names and models thrown around really hit me with waves of nostalgia. I'm getting really, really old to be remembering things like this.

We're Gonna Have Fans Involved Completely

Just read an incredible article about how Wasteland 2 is now a reality. It's amazing to see a fan base come together like this.
